I don’t mean to be unfair to FDR. “The only thing we have to fear is . . . fear itself” might have blown up Twitter if smartphones had existed in 1933. It’s more that radio was the ideal medium for Roosevelt — he was cut out for it and knew how to use it, much like Twitter was perfectly suited to the immediate past occupant of the White House.
